In this sequel, that was 3 years in the making, Gru (Steve Carell) puts his devious ways to work again, this time to save the world. After becoming a new dan and falling in love with his three adopted daughters, Gru left his evil ways behind to pursue an honest but unexciting life. That changes when the Anti-Villain League recruits him to help defeat Eduardo (Benjamin Bratt), possibly the baddest super-villain ever. He doesn't want anything to do with that but secret agent Lucy (Kristen Wiig) manages to persuade him
This one turns into a love story when Lucy and Gru fall in love with each other. The kids are going to love this sequel especially the minions. It has excellent 3-D.
I asked my daughter to tell me what's the meaning of this film to her and she said, "It's about family, if you have that, you have everything." Of course we need a mom for the kids and Lucy ends up with Gru in the end but they can't seem to kiss properly because of his big nose which gets a good laugh.
My main issue with the story is that Gru could have had a bit more push and pull with his evil side. Someone that's been bad as long as he can't just become good as fast as he did.
