The Who is getting a late start to their 50th anniversary tour. The band is marking the milestone this year. But guitarist Pete Townshend tells Billboard.com the group will likely launch a world tour in the UK during the holiday season, and visit the U.S. next year.
The rock legend also admits he's "not crazy about going on the road." But Pete says he's "in good shape" and "still very good at it," and once the trek begins he'll "take some pleasure from it."
Townshend adds that The Who might have a new record to support the tour. He says he's trying to rummage through his "20-thousand hours of complete and utter disorganized music" to find songs. Pete says it "might be a big waste of time," but he's hoping he'll turn up enough material for an album.
